New Orleans Tile Co. is an artisan ceramics company that handcrafts fully authentic New Orleans Street Tiles. Since the original tile manufacturer closed down during the Great Depression, these historic tiles have been unavailable for purchase. Now, for the first time in 100 years, connoisseurs of this incredible city have access to nostalgic, true-to-form street tiles.

What are New Orleans Street Tiles?
Like New Orleans’ history, the adoration for their iconic blue and white street tiles runs deep. Beginning in the 1880s when horse-drawn carriages were the norm, the tiles were used to mark street and business names. Although their functional use was lost over the years, they became a distinguished city icon, deeply embedded into the culture and history (and literally embedded into the concrete). This became especially true when work crews started to destroy the tiles in 1993 to install access ramps, which only reinforced their rarity. Now, New Orleans Street tiles are highly prized, sentimental collectibles and keepsakes.
